IRS Issues Audit Tips on Adjustments Made in Transfer Pricing Deals

In a new International Practice Unit (IPU), the IRS provides audit tips to its examiners on a taxpayer’s affirmative use of Internal Revenue Code Section 482, “Allocation of Income and Deductions.” That section of tax law gives the IRS the authority to make adjustments between or among members of a “controlled group,” if a controlled taxpayer hasn’t reported its true taxable income.

Two Key Ratios

Value added is defined as net sales less material and incoming freight costs. In the case of non-manufacturing companies, value added is the same as gross profit. The value added amount covers all other costs incurred by a company with the remainder being profit. An overall productivity index is derived by dividing the value added dollars by the total company payroll dollars. Living Our Values

CDH hosted a food drive to assist with food insecurity for familes and individuals in need during the holiday season.  The collections received in the Chicago and Itasca office were donated to the Humanitarian Service Project which assists to alleviate poverty and food insecurity in the surround counties.  Also, collections received in the Milwaukee office were donated to the Food Pantry of Waukesha County.
